15-year-old Mercedez Johnson described as a ‘hard-working’ participant
A 15-year previous Ladysmith athlete was the B.C. Minor Baseball Affiliation’s Rookie of the 12 months.
Mercedez Johnson not too long ago accepted the 2022 award in Vancouver.
She performed for each the 21U B.C. Selects crew on the ladies’s invitational in St. John’s, Nfld., and the 16U B.C. Selects crew on the ladies’ invitational in Summerside, P.E.I.
In accordance with the affiliation, she is a “devoted and expert participant that any coach would wish to have as a part of her crew.”
Johnson, who performs a number of positions within the discipline, had an necessary function because the crew’s lead-off batter. She ended the match with seven stolen bases and a .467 batting common.
