Ballard sophomore Tucker Vitzthum is the Tri-County Instances Athlete of the Week.
Vitzthum certified for the boys state wrestling match for the primary time and claimed a district championship at 132 kilos throughout the Class 2A District 2 meet in Huxley Saturday.
Vitzthum pinned Knoxville’s Steven McCreery in two minutes throughout the quarterfinals then upset West Marshall’s J.D. Downs within the semifinals with a fall in 4:40 and top-seeded Remmington Fry of Prairie Metropolis-Monroe within the finals with a 14-2 win by main resolution. Vitzthum heads to state with a 39-16 document.
